Dead

RE: Dead
The devs have been very cool about it, and people who were previous patrons, but needed to stop, were allowed to keep housing.

I was a patron for a couple months, and then i had to stop for my girlfriend to quit her job and go back to school. Half the income meant money got tighter. They were super understanding and still allow me to access the housing feature.

In my mind, it's definitely worth it for the gold you get and the features, IF you want to support the game.

But in essence, it is basically pay2win. Except it's more like pay2access. Like DLC.

According to some Kanji, the housing update is still incomplete. The final items for the hardest missions still have no purpose, and there are also some bugs that need fixing.

This was a long time ago that i heard this, maybe 6 months. So long that i don't know which kanji told me. But i don't think anything has been fixed or implemented yet. Last i checked i think was a month ago and they still have the misspelling of "Sword" as "Dword"

So if that fix wasn't implemented, i doubt any large feature would have been implemented.

RE: Dead
What I basically found out is that whatever you donate them, irrespective of that the development of the game will go on with the similar pace as it is going atm. The extra funds allows Dev. to hire some extra mods and keep the game alive and fix the lag and small bug issues quickly.

I would never believe this until updates on the game actually showed up.

RE: Dead
No one actually gets paid for their work on the game, from what i've understood. All the Kanji work on a volunteer basis for the good of the game.

Spam on the forums is because Kanji don't regularly check the board. It's only checked when something is reported. For a long time, i was the one reporting it all, and it would be removed within a few hours, maybe a day. If you'd like to go report all the spam, i'm sure it would be removed quite quickly by crow. Personally i stopped because i lost my daily prize in the game, and i'm kinda slowly caring less and less, so screw it, let the spam stay i guess.

As far as the game goes, it needs 4000 dollars per month to run at full speed. The highest patreon got to was about 142. If we assume that double that comes from gold buyers and customs in the game per month, that's a little over 400 dollars, so something of about 10% of what's needed to have full attention of the devs devoted to the game. That's what we in the business call "Not enough to see actual change."

10% funding means that 1 month worth of work takes about 10 months to complete. Anyone who's done serious art/programming/coding would know pretty well that 1 month of work on a game of this magnitude wouldn't do much to implement anything. And at full development speed, it would probably take 3-6 months in order to actually develop and implement anything.

This means it would take anywhere from 30-60 months worth of developing at this pace to actually get anything done. That's 2 1/2 to 5 years to see a new notable feature implemented. We saw housing partially completed in about 2 years, which adds up with the timeline.

But as money has slowed in the game, you can expect that number to become even more inflated, and those goals to be even further away.
